Bio

I’m a journalist and a Ph.D. student studying collective intelligence, e.g. crowdfunding, crowdsourcing, and open innovation in journalism and in problem solving.

You can find my posts about the future of journalism, open data, business and tech on the Huffington Post and PBS MediaShift.

I have done reporting widely around the world ranging from Afghanistan to several countries in Africa. I have taught journalism in Zambia, and worked as a reporter for the Namibian Press Agency in Namibia.

My first book will tell what is happening to the old institutions: their role is melting down. That is actually good news.
